President-elect Donald J. Trump is having second thoughts about his options for Treasury secretary, and is expected to invite the top candidates to interview with him this week at his private club, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Fla.Mr. Trump is looking at Kevin Warsh, a former Federal Reserve governor, as well as Marc Rowan, a Wall Street billionaire. Previously, Mr. Trump had been expected to pick either Howard Lutnick, the chief executive of the Wall Street firm Cantor Fitzgerald, or Scott Bessent, the founder of the investment firm Key Square Capital Management.The new Treasury secretary will be asked to oversee many of Mr. Trump’s populist economic policies. The slowdown on a selection for the important role interrupts what had been a flurry of nominations that were announced shortly after his election victory.
